Treaty Division

Clarity in Structure. Confidence in Placement.

Since 1976, Nasco Re has built enduring relationships across international reinsurance markets. Today, our Treaty Division serves more than 220 cedants and operates through client and market relationships spanning over 40 countries.

These figures reflect more than scale. They reflect a placement culture built on technical discipline, market trust and close client service. We work with cedants to transform complex portfolios into clear, marketable treaty programs, combining actuarial analysis, practical judgment and reliable execution.

Our approach is straightforward: understand the portfolio, define the right structure, present the risk with clarity, and place it with trusted reinsurance partners. The result is sustainable protection that supports clients through changing market conditions and builds long-term value for both cedants and reinsurers.

Treaty Non-Life

Nasco Re structures proportional and non-proportional treaty reinsurance programs across the full spectrum of non-life business. Each solution is shaped around the client’s portfolio, underwriting profile, loss experience, retention strategy and capital objectives.

From quota share and surplus treaties to excess of loss protections, our team combines technical review, actuarial analysis and market intelligence to balance protection, pricing, capacity and long-term continuity.

Through disciplined program design and focused market placement, Nasco Re delivers efficient and sustainable risk transfer solutions that support portfolio performance, reduce volatility and strengthen balance-sheet resilience across market cycles.

CORE TREATY SERVICES
PROGRAM DESIGN
Our experts evaluate optimal retentions and determine the ideal balance between proportional and non-proportional structures across product lines. Existing programs are tested through advanced simulations to identify and secure, cost-efficient arrangements tailored to each client’s portfolio.
PORTFOLIO ANALYSIS
Our actuarial and commercial teams use state-of-the-art tools including the Risk Explorer platform from Ultimate Risk Solutions to model claims, assess loss ratios, and forecast the impact of different reinsurance scenarios. This ensures decisions are grounded in rigorous data and actuarial precision.
NEW & COMPLEX RISK SOLUTIONS
With decades of market presence and strong regional partnerships, Nasco Re provides clients with best-in-class terms which go through stress-tests to identify weak points which are then negotiated to ascertain that the most cost-effective deal is the one presented to the client.
MARKET INTELLIGENCE
Our experience across multiple markets enables us to manage complex and emerging risks, crafting tailored solutions for evolving exposures in specialized or frontier lines of business.
Catastrophe Modeling & Exposure Assessment
Catastrophe modeling is central to Nasco Re's risk assessment framework. We operate our own catastrophe modeling platforms COTALITY and CATRISK running COTALITY's RQE (Risk Quantification & Engineering) V.25, which we update with every new version release to ensure our analyses reflect the latest available science and data, with a strong focus on Turkey, the Middle East, and GCC markets, as well as India, Pakistan, and Kenya. Our modeling covers earthquake (ground shake, liquefaction, and landslide) and tropical cyclone, across UAE, Bahrain, India, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, KSA, Turkey, and Yemen. These tools enable detailed exposure, accumulation, and portfolio analyses, allowing us to deliver regular, data-rich reports, including OEP/AEP curves, ELT/YLT outputs, and portfolio stress testing, that provide clear visibility into potential losses and support informed underwriting decisions. Where vendor models lack coverage for a given country, we adapt our methodology to ensure consistent analysis across all markets we serve. In addition to our catastrophe modeling capabilities, Nasco Re applies Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA) using Ultimate Risk Solutions (URS) to evaluate underwriting risk, reinsurance structures, capital adequacy, and portfolio volatility over multi-year horizons. This integrated approach ensures a holistic view of risk and supports sound strategic and capital management decisions.
